Abercrombie Retains CSFL Player of the Week Title

for-5WEST POINT, N.Y. – For the second consecutive week, sophomore kicker John Abercrombie of the Army West Point sprint football team has been named the Collegiate Sprint Football League (CSFL) Special Teams Player of the Week.

Abercrombie accounted for all nine of Army's points in its 14-9 loss to Penn last Friday. He was a perfect 3-for-3 on field goals, connecting from 24, 36 and 33 yards, respectively.

In week one against Chestnut Hill, Abercrombie booted his only field goal attempt from 36 through the uprights, in addition to converting all four of his PAT attempts. On the season, the sophomore is 4-for-4 on field goals and 5-for-5 PATs.

The Quakers took home the Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week honors with Andrew Sutton and Quinn Karam.

The Black Knights return to action on Saturday afternoon when they host Mansfield for a 1 p.m. kickoff.
