Volleyball Hosts Colgate for Dig Pink Match

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Coming off a 1-0 start, the Army West Point volleyball team resumes Patriot League play Saturday when the Black Knights host Colgate for the Dig Pink Match presented by St. Luke's Hospital of Cornwall at 4 p.m.

THE DETAILS
- The Black Knights finished off their tournament season and jumped into Patriot League play last week. They accumulated a 3-2 mark with three tournament matches and two head-to-head contests.
- Army recorded 3-0 wins over Marist, Delaware State and Holy Cross, and is 8-1 in three set decisions. As a team, Army outscored Holy Cross 51-45 and had seven aces to their four. The Black Knights out-blocked the Crusaders 7-3 and had a 39-35 advantage in digs.
- Vanessa Wesley and Morriss are tops in the Patriot League in hitting percentage this season. Wesley leads with a .350 percentage while Morriss trails at .333.
- Haven Bethune ranks second in the league in assists per set with 9.07. She has totaled 399 helpers during her freshman campaign and has also added 24 kills and nine service aces.
- Amber Clay leads Army in kills per set with 2.70 and 146 total. Wesley tops the team with 3.22 points per set and 0.96 blocks per set on the season. She is followed by Olivia Fairfield who has 42 blocks on the year.

COLGATE
- The Raiders enter the weekend with a 4-7 record overall. They will open league play on Friday night at Holy Cross.
- Colgate has defeated Syracuse (3-1), Marist (3-0), The Citadel (3-1) and Eastern Michigan (3-0). Apart from Marist, one other common opponent includes UConn who the Raiders fell to 3-1.
- Kathleen Harris leads Colgate with a 3.58 kills per set average and 4.12 points per set. Katie Stansbury has also chipped in with 2.47 kills per set and 2.76 points per set.
- Molly Smith centers the Raiders' offense and dishes out 8.60 assists per set, while Madison McAndrews holds down the defense with an average of 4.19 digs per set.
