"This is an honor for the Army West Point Golf program to be invited to such a prestigious event," said head coach Brian Watts. "The field is loaded with top ranked programs from around the country. As a coach you want your team to have an opportunity to not only compete against them, but play on a true championship venue such as Olympia Fields Country Club."
"Our team has worked hard and deserves this opportunity. It is our job now to make the most of it and continue to get better every day. I always tell our cadets, "if you ever want to be the best, then you have to compete against them along the way to better prepare you for the NCAA's at the end of the year!" This is our opportunity and we would like to thank Mike Small and his committee for giving us this chance."

Florida State took home the title in 2015 with an 846 (+6), while Maverick McNealy of Stanford claimed the individual championship with a seven-under-par 203.
