Football's Final Scrimmage Held Under the Lights

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point football team held its final scrimmage on Friday night at Michie Stadium with only one week before kicking off the 2016 season.
The Black Knights begin the year on Sept. 2 at Temple under the lights at Lincoln Financial Field, beginning at 7 p.m. on CBS Sports Network.
The team split into the white and gold team with the gold squad as the scout team.
HIGHLIGHTS
The Black Knights will return to their game week schedule this week to get ready for Temple on Friday.

HIGHLIGHTS
- Avery Walas kicked a 30-yard field goal to give the gold team an early lead.
- Mitchell Howard answered on the next drive for the whit with a 40-yard field goal to tie the scrimmage at 3-3 in the second quarter.
- Mike Reynolds picked off a pass on an out pattern by the receiver and returned it to the end zone to give the white team a 10-3 lead.
- Chris Carter hit John Trainor in the flat and the running back went 50-plus yards, but had the ball knocked out at the goal line and the ball went into the end zone for a touchback.
- Christian Drake had a 22-yard touchdown run to put the white team up 17-3 as he made a couple of defenders miss on the outside and scampered into the end zone.
- Darnell Woolfolk closed out the scoring with a touchdown run in the fourth quarter.
- Max Regan stepped in front of a pass for an interception late in the scrimmage as well.
The Black Knights will return to their game week schedule this week to get ready for Temple on Friday.
