Final Double Session is Complete

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point football team finished the last double session of preseason camp on Friday with a morning and evening session at Howze Field.
The Black Knights practiced in hot and humid conditions and featured frequent water breaks, along with fierce competition during team drills.
The first session ended with a jump ball competition. The second session was a walk thru with no pads.
Play of the Day: Darnell Woolfolk gained a couple of first downs on third down plays during team drills and also had a touchdown when the team worked on goal line situations.
Offensive Line in Focus: The Black Knights return a core group of offensive lineman, but will be without Matt Hugenberg, who was the starting center for the previous two seasons and only missed two plays during those two years. Justin Gilbert and Colby Enegren are the most experience members of the line that are back and they are primarily on the left side. Mike Houghton and Brett Toth are slotted to anchor the right side. Joshua Boylan and Bryce Holland have been battling all camp for a shot at the starting center position. Rick Kurz is back for his second season after a rookie campaign that features a lot of playing time. Quinten Parker is at the top of the depth chart at the tight end position and is picked to replace Kelvin White.
Extra Points: Army worked on goal line situations at the end of practice in the morning with third and second downs from inside the five yard line … the offense came out on top in the drill … Andrew King recovered a fumble after a failed pitch … Kenneth Brinson broke into the backfield and caught the quarterback for a tackle for loss
Tomorrow's Scrimmage: The Black Knights will hold their first scrimmage of the preseason on Saturday at noon at Michie Stadium. The scrimmage is open to the public. Â
