Baseball to Host Hartford at Boulder’s Stadium
May 02, 2016 | Baseball
WEST POINT, N.Y. – For the second time this season, the Army West Point baseball team will play in a minor league stadium as the Black Knights host Hartford at Palisades Credit Union Park, home of the Rockland Boulders, on Sunday, May 8, at 2 p.m. Admission into the park, as well as parking, will be free of charge.
"I think it's an exciting opportunity because we get to play close to home and closer to the city," said head coach Matt Reid. "Some of our supporters that live down that way will be able to come out and see us. We play a good Hartford team in a really cool park with a great atmosphere. We're really looking forward to it."
The game on Mother's Day will conclude a three-game series between the Black Knights and the Hawks with a doubleheader being played at Hartford on Saturday.
In what will be the fifth all-time meeting between the two ballclubs, normal fan festivities from a Rockland Boulder's game will be available. The concessions stand will be open and operational, while between-inning entertainment will allow fans a chance to win prizes from Army and the Boulders. Additionally, the playground and B-Train will be open during the game for kids to enjoy. Fans are welcome to bring their dogs to the game as well as part of the Boulder's Pups in the Park promotion.
All kids ages 13 and under will be able to run the bases following the game, as well as all fans having an opportunity to come on the field and have a catch on the field as part of a Mother's Day celebration. Baseballs and gloves will not be provided.
Tickets for the game are now available for pick up at the Army West Point ticket office, located at Gate 3 of Michie Stadium.
