Football Completes Fifth Practice on Saturday

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Saturday marked the one-third point of spring practice for the Army West Point football team, as the Black Knights worked out in shells during the fifth practice of the spring at Howze Field.

The Black Knights worked on a number of position drills, while also spending time fine tuning in-game situations with offense vs. defense passing scenarios.

Practice concluded with fourth quarter drills and one-on-one drills that pitted receivers against defensive backs and offensive linemen against defensive linemen.

Army returns to the practice field on Tuesday for a 4:30 p.m. session. The annual Black-Gold Spring Game is set for April 30 at 1 p.m.

COACHES CLINIC SET FOR THIS WEEK
Army hosted a coaches clinic from Thursday to Saturday. The featured speaker for the clinic was be former Virginia Tech head coach Frank Beamer and the main topic of his talk was winning with special teams. The coaches went through an entire day on Friday of presentations from Army assistant coaches, as well as Mike Cerasuolo of Springfield and Dayton head coach Rick Chamberlin. Saturday wrapped up with Jeff Monken speaking before Saturday morning's practice at 10:15 a.m.
PRACTICE NOTES
- The Black Knights returned to shells after practicing in full pads for the first time this spring on Friday.
- There were numerous coaches in attendance for today's practice as they participated in Army's coaches clinic that wrapped up today.
