Burggraaf Adds AAA Athlete of the Week Honors

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Freshman Daniel Burggraaf of the Army West Point baseball team added AAA Athlete of the Week honors to his list of weekly accolades after being named the Patriot League Pitcher of the Week on Monday.
Burggraaf started the series finale for the Black Knights, tossing a season-high seven innings and nine strikeouts. The righty from Belfair, Wash., allowed a season-low three hits and one walk in Army's first shutout since May 1 when Alex Robinett tossed a complete-game shutout, 8-0. With his second win of the season, Burggraaf's ERA fell to a team-best 3.56.
The Black Knights will head to NYIT on Wednesday for a 3:30 p.m. first pitch before continuing their 10-game road trip at Navy for the weekend series with the Gold Star on the line.
