On the message to the team coming into spring practice
"Spring practice is an opportunity to get better. We are five months away from playing, we have a lot of time between now and kickoff. It will go a lot faster than we realize. We are just trying to get better. I am glad we have spring practice, it allows us to be able to see the younger guys and how they have developed over the winter. It is amazing to see how a guy transforms during his first season when you are in college. It shows the difference through the weight and nutrition programs. We have had a lot of guys gain weight and strength and I am anxious to see what they will look like in a different body."
On what the staff has been doing since last December
"We took some time off. Our families deserve that. We spent a lot of time preparing and a lot of the time after the last game we spend recruiting. We dive right into it in December."
On the leadership of the team
"I think we have a lot of great leaders on our team. Jeremy Timpf was voted captain as a junior and I certainly know he is capable of doing that. I don't know if we have a better leader on the team than Andrew King. He does a great job. These guys that have been around and feel a sense of urgency to get it turned around. A guy like
