Army Heads to Colgate in League Quarterfinals

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The sixth-seeded Army West Point men's soccer team is set to face third-seeded Colgate in Hamilton, N.Y., in the Patriot League quarterfinals on Tuesday, Nov. 8 at 7 p.m. The Patriot League Tournament berth is the fourth consecutive postseason appearance for the Black Knights.

Army owns a 35-25-5 all-time record versus Colgate, including a 2-1 double-overtime win against the Raiders in Hamilton, N.Y., on Oct. 26. Freshman Zac McGraw provided the game-winning goal with 44 seconds remaining in the second overtime period to seal the victory for the Cadets. Senior Nick Williams scored the first goal in the last meeting between the schools, finding the back of the net in the 84th minute.

Army is 1-1-0 versus Colgate in the Patriot League Tournament. The Cadets lost to the Raiders, 1-0, in double overtime during the 1992 Patriot League championship match and defeated Colgate, 2-1, in the 1994 Patriot League semifinals.

ARMY (9-7-2, 4-4-1 PATRIOT LEAGUE)
• Army dropped a 2-1 decision to Bucknell in its regular-season finale on Nov. 5.
• Freshman midfielder Peter Meyer scored the first goal of his career for the Black Knights, while senior Tanner Vosvick provided an assist.
• McGraw was named to the All-Patriot League first team when the conference released its men's soccer postseason awards Monday. Vosvick, senior Christian Clark, junior Marcos Arroyo, and freshman Rex Epps joined McGraw with postseason honors, as all four were recognized on the all-league third team.
• Epps finished the regular season with 10 goals to rank tied for first in the Patriot League in the category. He is the first Black Knight to score 10 goals since John Brence (USMA '91) scored 12 in 1988.

COLGATE (11-6-1, 5-3-1 PATRIOT LEAGUE)
• Colgate defeated Lafayette, 1-0, on the road on Nov. 5 to clinch a spot in the Patriot League Tournament.
• Jared Stroud scored the game's only goal in the 88th minute to give the Raiders the victory.
• Zach Tamen was honored as Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year and was joined on the all-league first team by Stroud and Ethan Kutler. Colin O'Neill was chosen on the second team and Aram Ouligian landed on the third team.
• Kutler and Zach Pagani each scored five goals to lead the Raiders during the regular season.
