Bethune Tabbed Army's Athlete of the Week

WEST POINT, N.Y. – After posting 80 assists over two games, freshman setter Haven Bethune was named the Army West Point Athletics Athlete of the Week and the Patriot League Rookie of the Week.

Bethune centered Army's offense during a two-win weekend with victories over Lafayette (3-0) and a five set thriller over service academy rival Navy. The rookie had a career-high 55 assists against the Mids on Saturday to average 11.0 per set.

The Chattanooga, Tenn., native also tallied 19 digs on the weekend and 13 against Navy to post the fifth double-double performance of her career. Bethune now ranks fourth in the Patriot League with an 8.60 assists per set average.

Army will close-out the regular season at Gillis Field House next weekend when Lehigh and Bucknell come to the banks of the Hudson. Friday night's match will be at 7 p.m. against the Mountain Hawks, while Saturday's contest against the Bison will be held at 4 p.m. as the team honors Firstie captain Olivia Fairfield for Senior Day.
