WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point football team renews its rivalry with Notre Dame at 3 p.m. on Saturday at The Alamodome in San Antonio.

SATURDAY'S ARE FOR GAMEDAY
• The Army West Point football team looks to rebound this week with a matchup against Notre Dame at The Alamodome in San Antonio as part of Notre Dame's Shamrock Series.
• The contest will air live on national television on NBC and the game can also be heard on the Army Sports Network through the TuneIn app or goarmywestpoint.com.
THE OPENING KICKOFF
• The Black Knights are coming off a tough loss to service-academy rival Air Force last Saturday as the Falcons came away with the 31-12 victory.
• The Black Knights are still seeking its first six-win season since 2010.
• The Army defense allowed 31 points to Air Force, which was the second most this season. However, Army has allowed 15 points or less in six of nine games in 2016.
• The rushing attack was shut down for most of the day against the Falcons as Army was held to a season-low 144 yards, but the Black Knights still remain second in the nation in rushing offense.
• The defense has dropped to sixth in the nation in total defense, allowing 286.4 yards per game and is also 13th in the country in scoring defense with 18.1 points per game given up.
• The passing defense was tested against Air Force and will be on Saturday as well. Army is fifth in the nation in passing yards allowed at 166.6 per contest.
• Army is 3-2 away from Michie Stadium in 2016 and is playing its first of two neutral site games of the year.
ARMY-NOTRE DAME SERIES HISTORY
• The series history between Army and Notre Dame dates back to the first meeting in 1913. Saturday's contest will be the 51st clash all-time.
• Notre Dame leads the series by a 38-8-4 margin and is riding a 14-game winning streak against the Black Knights.
• Army last beat the Irish during its 1958 undefeated season with a 14-2 victory in South Bend.
• The Alamodome will be the eighth neutral site stadium to host this rivalry, joining the likes of Ebbets Field, Polo Grounds and Yankee Stadium.
• The teams have played a total of 31 neutral site games in the series with the last one coming in 2010 at Yankee Stadium.
ABOUT THE FIGHTING IRISH
• Notre Dame is coming off a close one-point loss to Navy last Saturday with a 28-27 defeat in Jacksonville.
• The Irish came within one point of the Navy lead in the fourth quarter, but the Mids were able to convert on two fourth down plays to run out the clock.
• Notre Dame sits 3-6 on the year with wins over Nevada, Syracuse and Miami.
• The passing game has seen glimpses of success and ranks 40th in the nation with 259.2 yards per game.
• The defense has given up some yardage this season and is 50th in total defense, allowing 385.9 yards per game, while also giving up an average of 27.7 points per game.
• Quarterback Deshone Kizer is the engine that makes the offense go with 2,038 passing yards and 316 yards on the ground.
• Kizer has thrown for 16 touchdowns, which ranks 21st in the country. He averages 254.8 yards per game through the air.
• Equanimeous St. Brown is the leading receiver with 37 catches for 683 yards and seven touchdowns. He averages 85.4 yards per game.
• Nyles Morgan is the leader of the defense with 67 tackles, including four sacks and a fumble recovery. Notre Dame has a total of 11 sacks and six interceptions on the year.
RUSHING ATTACK
• The Black Knights stayed put as the second-ranked rushing attack in the country despite a season-low 144 yards versus Air Force.
• It was the third time this season the Black Knights were held under 300 yards on the ground and it was for the second-straight week.
• There weren't many highlights Saturday when it came to the ground game, but Kell Walker scored his first career touchdown with a nice 32-yard run.
• Darnell Woolfolk has started the last two games at fullback after Andy Davidson started the previous seven games.
• The Black Knights have seen 13 different players reach the end zone in the first nine games this year with Davidson leading the way with seven scores.

• The Black Knights' defense has allowed an average of only 18.1 points per game over the first nine contests, which ranks 13th in the nation.
• Six of the nine opponents Army has faced have been held to two touchdowns or less on the scoreboard.
• The last two home games have been tough for the Black Knights as Army gave up over 30 points in each contest, but away from West Point, the Black Knights have given up only 15.2 points per game.
• The Black Knights have stopped the run on a consistent basis in the first nine games as they are 23rd in the nation, allowing 119 yards per game on the ground.
• Army held Wake Forest to 123 rushing yards on Oct. 29, but Air Force ran for 249 yards, which was a season high for an opponent this year.

• Edgar Poe is back to his big-catch form the last two weeks with a career high 122 yards at Wake Forest and a team high 46 yards against the Air Force.
• The Wake Forest game was his first 100-yard receiving game of the season and the third of his career.
• He surpassed his brother Christian as the leading receiver for the Black Knights with 245 yards on 12 catches and a touchdown this season.
• Poe's previous high for receiving yards in a game was against Navy last year when he hauled in five catches for 121 yards and a score.
• He has 10 career receiving touchdowns and passed Pete Dawkins, Don Holleder and Aris Comeaux against Air Force for seventh all-time.

• Andrew King has continued his momentum from an impressive junior season into his senior campaign.
• The middle linebacker is second on the team with 71 tackles, including 42 solo stops.
• He has four sacks on the year and 7.5 tackles for loss.
• King has been in the right place at the right time with two fumble recoveries in 2016, including one at Duke.
• King is currently fourth all-time in career tackles for loss with 32 and is one behind Jim Brock '87 and Cameron Craig '07 for third all-time.

• Jeremy Timpf has also enjoyed a stellar senior campaign with 72 tackles, including 6.5 that have ended up as losses.
• He is one of two players on the defense with two interceptions and has six career picks, including three as a sophomore.
• Timpf has posted 10 or more tackles in three games this season, including 15 at Duke on Oct. 8.
• He had 12 stops against Air Force with eight being solo stops.
• Timpf has 281 career tackles for 17th all-time and is three away from George Mayes '79 and former teammate Geoffrey Bacon '14.
