Bryn Named First Team Academic All-District

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Junior libero Megan Bryn of the Army West Point volleyball team has been named First Team Academic All-District by College Sports Information Directors of America, announced by the organization on Thursday. Â

The 2016 CoSIDA Academic All-District® volleyball teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.Â
Â
All First Team Academic All-District honorees will advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Team ballots, where first-, second- and third-team All-America selections take place. The Academic All-America teams will be selected by vote of the Academic All-Americat® committee and CoSIDA Board of Directors, with the women's volleyball selections announced December 5-8.

Bryn is an International Relations major at the academy with a minor in Terrorism Studies and boasts a 3.746 grade-point average. Last year, she was named the Col. George K. Osborn III Award winner at the U.S. Military Academy as the top International Relations student.

The Ashburn, Va., native dons the Superintendent's Award for ranking in the top five percent of her class across all three pillars; academics, military and physical.

Bryn is a two-time Center for Enhanced Performance Scholar-Athlete of the Month and has been named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll for all eligible semesters.

Bryn is the first Army volleyball player to receive Academic All-District accolades since Lauren Team was named to the first team in 2007. Bryn is the fourth cadet-athlete in program history to be named to the first team.
