Shea Adds Academic All-League Nod

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – Clare Shea of Army West Point women's soccer earned her second conference honor of the week as she was named to the Academic All-Patriot League team on Wednesday.
Earlier this week she was also named to the All-Patriot League First Team.
Shea, an Operations Research major, holds a 3.829 cumulative GPA and was named to the academic team for the first time in her career.
The Allendale, N.J., native was one of just two players to have started all 18 games this season for the Black Knights. She led Army in assists, points, shots, shots on goal, and was tied for tops on the team in goals and game-winners. On the year, Shea recorded 39 shots, with 25 of them being on frame.
In her career, she has appeared in 55 games for the Black Knights, making 32 starts. The junior has compiled eight goals and nine assists for 25 career points as the Cadets main playmaker.
To be eligible for the Scholar-Athlete of the Year award and the Academic All-Patriot League Team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average and be a starter or key player in his/her sport. Freshmen or students in their first academic year at their school are not eligible for the honor.
