GAME NOTES: Army Looks to Bounce Back at Duke

WEST POINT, N.Y. - Following a week off, the Army West Point football team heads to Duke for a Saturday afternoon kickoff at 3:30 p.m. on the ACC Network.
The Black Knights will look to get back on track after their setback at Buffalo on Sept. 24. In addition to the game being live on the ACC Network, it will be carried on the Army Sports Network.

SATURDAY'S ARE FOR GAMEDAY
• The Army West Point football team looks to get back on track after its bye week with a visit to Duke on Saturday afternoon.
• The contest will air live around the nation on the ACC Network at 3:30 p.m., and the game can also be heard on the Army Sports Network through the TuneIn app or goarmywestpoint.com.
THE OPENINIG KICKOFF
• Army enters Saturday's game with a 3-1 record after dropping a tough 23-20 overtime decision at Buffalo on Sept. 24.
• The Black Knights are at the tail end of a three-game road swing and are 1-1 in the first two games, including a 66-14 victory over UTEP on Sept. 17.
• Army has the top rushing attack in the nation, averaging 374 yards per game on the ground.
• The defense ranks 10th in the country in total defense and is ninth in stopping the run.
• The Black Knights have forced its opponents into eight turnovers this season and have a plus-1.5 turnover margin, which is fifth in the NCAA.
• The Black Knights went the first three games without committing a turnover.

PLAYING FOR THEIR BROTHER
• The Black Knights will be playing for sophomore Brandon Jackson, who passed away on Sept. 11.
• Jackson was an impact player for Army for the past two seasons as a cornerback.
• He had played in all 14 games since his arrival in 2014 and Jackson finished with 68 career tackles and three interceptions, two of which came against Wake Forest in 2015.
• Jackson grew up in Queens, N.Y., and watched Army football games as a kid.
• The Black Knights are honoring Jackson with a helmet sticker as well as the No. 28 stitched on the coaches' hats.
ARMY-DUKE SERIES HISTORY
• This will be the 24th all-time meeting between Duke and Army.
• The series belongs to the Blue Devils at 12-10-1 with Duke winning three of the last four matchups.
• The Blue Devils had their most lopsided win in the history of the series last season with a 44-3 win at Michie Stadium.
• The series started back in 1944 and the first four games were played at the Polo Grounds in New York City.
ABOUT THE BLUE DEVILS
• Duke enters Saturday's game with a 2-3 overall record and an 0-2 mark in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
• The Blue Devils are coming off a 34-20 loss to Virginia at home.
• The previous week, Duke shocked college football with a 38-35 win over Notre Dame in South Bend, Ind.
• The Blue Devils have averaged 26.8 points per game through the first five contests of the season.
• The Duke passing attack is 33rd in the nation, averaging just over 290 yards per game.
• Daniel Jones has played in all five games at quarterback and has racked up 1,414 passing yards and six touchdowns.
• Jela Duncan is the team's leading rusher with 314 yards on the ground and four touchdowns.
RUSHING ATTACK
• The Black Knights have slid up to first in the nation in rushing yards per contest.
• Army rushed for 396 yards against Buffalo in its last game and had a season high 424 opposite UTEP on Sept. 17.
• Andy Davidson was held in check against the Bulls, but is still averaging over 100 yards per game this season.
DAZZLING DAVIDSON
• Fullback Andy Davidson made his offensive debut for the Black Knights at Temple and rushed for 121 yards and two touchdowns.
• He has ran for over 100 yards in three of four games this season and is among the top rushers in the nation in yards per game at 103.5.
• The sophomore played special teams and linebacker in 2015, but was a running back in high school at Emmaus in Allentown, Pa.
• The fullback was held to 80 yards on the ground against the Bulls and didn't find the endzone for the first time this season.
DOMINANT DEFENSE
• The Black Knights' defense has allowed an average of 16 points per game over the first four games, which is 13th in the nation.
• In total defense, Army ranks 10th, allowing an average of 264.8 yards per game.
• The Black Knights have done a great job stopping the run in the first four games as they are ninth in the nation, allowing 87.5 yards per game on the ground.
• Army has had an answer when teams go to the air as well. The Black Knights are 19th in the nation in passing yards allowed at 177.3.
