GAME NOTES: Army Welcomes North Texas Saturday

WEST POINT, N.Y. –  The Army West Point football team will look to build off its big win over Lafayette as North Texas comes to West Point on Saturday.
The game is set for a 12:02 p.m. kickoff on CBS Sports Network and on the radio through the Army Sports Network.

SATURDAY'S ARE FOR GAMEDAY
• The Army West Point football team is back at Michie Stadium for the second Saturday in a row as the Black Knights host North Texas at noon.
• The contest will air live around the nation on the CBS Sports Network, and the game can also be heard on the Army Sports Network through the TuneIn app or goarmywestpoint.com.
OPENING KICKOFF
• Army got back on the winning track with a 62-7 defeat over Lafayette on Saturday in front of a sellout crowd at Michie Stadium.
• The Black Knights were happy to be home for the first time in five weeks and it showed with 671 yards of total offense, which was the second-most in program history.
• Army jumped back to the top of the list for rushing offense after a season high 537 yards on the ground against the Leopards.
• The Black Knights defense has been lights out through the first six games and ranks second in the nation in total defense, allowing just 245.2 total yards per game.
• Bateman's bunch is second in the country in rushing defense, allowing only 84.2 yards per game, and has given up more than 15 points just once this season.
• Army has totally shut down opponents in the fourth quarter. The Black Knights have allowed only 14 points all season in the final frame.
DOMINANT DEFENSE
• The Black Knights' defense has allowed an average of only 14 points per game over the first six contests, which ranks fourth in the nation.
• Five of the six opponents Army has faced have been held to two touchdowns or less on the scoreboard.
• In total defense, Army ranks second in the country, allowing an average of 245.2 yards per game.
• The Black Knights have done a great job stopping the run in the first six games as they are now second in the nation, allowing just 99 yards per game on the ground.
• The Leopards had huge issues running the ball against the Black Knights as Army held them to a season low 10 yards on the ground.
• The Army passing defense is just as good as the Black Knights are eighth in FBS, allowing only 161 yards through the air.

• The Army defense sacked the quarterback two more times against Lafayette to bring their season total to 15 on the year.
• Alex Aukerman, Andrew King and Kenneth Brinson share the team lead with four sacks apiece.
• King and Brinson had Army's two sacks Saturday against the Leopards.
• Aukerman is having a breakout season overall with 8.5 tackles for loss through the first six games and his 1.4 per game average is 22nd in the country.
• He is a hybrid-type of player that can play as a defensive end or outside linebacker at times in the game.

• Andrew King has continued his momentum from an impressive junior season into his senior campaign.
• The senior middle linebacker leads the team with 48 tackles, including 25 solo stops.
• He has four sacks on the year and 7.5 tackles for loss.
• King has been in the right place at the right time with two fumble recoveries in 2016, including one at Duke.

• The offensive unit is led by quarterbacks Ahmad Bradshaw and Chris Carter.
• The duo has seen action in all six games this season.
• Bradshaw is the second leading rusher on the Black Knights with 404 yards in six games.
• He recorded his second 100-yard rushing game of the season with 109 on the ground against Lafayette and scored on a 60-yard run on the fourth play of the game.
• Carter played significant time against the Leopards and had 56 yards rushing and a touchdown.
• Both quarterbacks had a good day through the air with Carter throwing for 103 yards and a touchdown, while Bradshaw also threw a touchdown in the win.
• Third-string quarterback Malik McGue got his second opportunity of the season at the position and ran for 94 yards on eight carries late in Saturday's game, including a 41-yard touchdown run.
RUSHING ATTACK
• The Black Knights are back as the top rushing attack in the country after racking up 537 yards rushing against Lafayette.
• Army responded well after being held below 200 yards at Duke.
• Cole Macek stepped into the fullback role during the game against Lafayette and scampered for a career best 111 yards and a touchdown.
• The Army rushing offense had multiple contributors with six touchdowns by six different players.

• Macek was counted on early in the game against Lafayette after Andy Davidson went down with an injury in the first quarter.
• With Davidson and Darnell Woolfolk out with injuries, Army turned to Macek and he contributed with a team high 111 yards.
