Nguyen Pulls Big Upset at Oracle ITA Masters

LOS ANGELES, CALIF. – The Army West Point men's tennis team saw one of its own score a major upset at the Oracle ITA Masters on Friday night.
Michael Nguyen upset Gergely Madarasz, the No. 36 ranked player in the nation, 6-4, 6-2 in the first round of the consolation bracket.
Nguyen fell to Memphis' Ryan Peniston, 2-6, 4-6, in the first round, but rebounded for the big win in the afternoon.
The junior, who is representing the Patriot League at the event, will face Andrew Watson of Memphis in the next round at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
