Getting to Know: Pierre Archambeau
August 17, 2015 | Men's Swimming and Diving
Each weekday throughout the summer a new cadet-athlete will be featured in Getting to Know, a Q&A series where Army West Point fans can read about their favorite players.
NAME: Pierre Archambeau
HOMETOWN: Vacaville, CA
MAJOR:Â Systems Engineering
DESCRIBE YOUR HEAD COACH:Â Passionate about making us better swimmers and leaders.
GREATEST ATHLETE ON EARTH TODAY IS: Austin Kong.
FAVORITE ARMY WEST POINT TEAM OTHER THAN YOUR OWN:Â Wrestling Team
FAVORITE VENUE TO PLAY IN:Â Any opponent's pool that has loud fans cheering against us.
OPPONENT MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO PLAYING:Â Navy. That team always brings out the best in us and we are hungry for a win.
WHAT TEAM NOT ON YOUR SCHEDULE WOULD YOU LIKE TO PLAY AND WHY: AirForce. We haven't competed against them in years and I think they are a very good match up.
HOW ARE YOU SPENDING YOUR SUMMER: CLDT, PL for Beast 1 and I have an internship with Intuit in San Diego.
ON MY TEAM, I AM THE BEST…  at holding my breath. I'm not sure if that helps me much at swimming, but I'm good at it.
FAVORITE MEAL:Â I love sushi. You can find me at any all you can eat sushi buffet.
IF YOU COULD GO ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD YOU GO: Croatia to go see my family there. Â
FAVORITE WARMUP SONG: Till I collapse by Eminem
BIGGEST NIGHTMARE: Wasting time. Life is too short to not dedicate every second towards improving yourself and people around you.
Â
FAVORITE PART OF WEST POINT:Â The people here. All of my best friends have come from West Point.
DESCRIBE ARMY WEST POINT SWIMMING AND DIVING: We are warriors that love a good challenge. Â
MOST MEMORABLE ATHLETIC MOMENT: The first time I went 49 in the 100 backstroke. That was my goal the entire season and it was an amazing feeling to finally achieve that goal.
HOW ARE YOU IMPROVING YOUR GAME IN THE OFFSEASON: Working on my kick and under waters. Improving my underwater kick will make a big difference in my backstroke.
WHO IS THE STRONGEST PLAYER ON YOUR TEAM: Austin Kong
WHICH TEAMMATE IS MOST LIKLEY TO BECOME A GENERAL: Colin Kanzari. He was born to be in the Army.
ADVICE FOR INCOMING PLEBE TEAMMATES: Always stay hungry and remember your goals. You will be very busy and tired at West Point, but never lose sight of the reason you came to West Point. Find a way to improve yourself every day.
FAVORITE PERSON TO FOLLOW ON TWITTER: I don't use Twitter.Â
