Army West Point Athletics
Feature Friday: Kelsey Minato
December 25, 2015 | Women's Basketball, Athletics
Feature Friday highlights the tremendous personal stories our coaches and cadet-athletes have to share on a weekly basis. Each Friday, a new feature story will be prominently highlighted on GoArmyWestPoint.com. The features will include multi-media pieces, as well as written stories by media outlets and the Army West Point athletic communications staff.
Senior guard Kelsey Minato is widely regarded as one of the top women's basketball players in the 39-year history of the Army women's basketball program. A native of Huntington Beach, Calif., she became the team's career scoring leader and reached the 2,000-point plateau earlier this season. Minato is also within striking distance of the Patriot League women's basketball career record and the Army record to include both men's and women's players.
Minato played an impactful role in helping the Black Knights bring home their second Patriot League Championship in 2014 and has also contributed to a pair of WNIT bids in 2013 and 2015. She prepares for her final season of Patriot League basketball this winter.
