Holder Earns First Team All-Patriot League Nod
November 02, 2015 | Women's Soccer
WEST POINT, N.Y. - Army West Point women's soccer forward Katie Holder was honored with a First Team All-Patriot League selection, the conference announced Monday. The selection was the second consecutive first-team recognition and third overall all-league citation of Holder's career.
The senior from Stillwater, Minn., was a Preseason All-Patriot League pick and lived up to expectations by leading Army in scoring. She was seventh in the conference in points (14), seventh in goals (5) and fifth in assists (4). In addition, three of her goals were game-winning tallies, which tied for second in the conference.
Holder did most of her damage during Patriot League play, scoring four times in nine conference matches. The Mechanical Engineering major started the league slate with both of Army's goals in a 2-2 draw against Navy and had at least one point in the first four conference games. She scored the game-winner at Lafayette and then netted the first marker in the 2-0 win over Lehigh.
Holder ended her four-year career with 16 goals and eight assists and is tied for seventh in program history with nine career game-winning goals.
The All-Patriot League teams and major award winners were voted on by the league's 10 head coaches, with restrictions of excluding their own student-athletes.
